Illustration Friday - Spring

It sure felt like spring here in New England today. It was so nice and warm. The birds were singing, the flowers were blooming and, of course, the bears were waking up from their long winter sleep.

I haven't decided if I'm going to paint this one or not. Maybe I'll just leave it as a pencil drawing. (Click on it to see the detail better.)

Just one more monster

Going to sneak one more monster in before the end of the week. I've been drawing cute little leprechauns and Easter bunnies the past few days and felt that I needed a change of pace.

Illustration Friday - Monster

If I have time I'd like to do a new piece for this week's topic (I have an idea in my head but I'm too tired to work on it tonight) For now I thought this one was appropriate.

Illustration Friday - Feet

I was having an awful time thinking of something for "feet". Maybe it's because it's my least favorite part of the the body to draw.

Winter Cave Illustration

My submission to the SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrator) illustration contest won honorable mention.

Since I'm a previous winner, I wasn't elligible for anything except honorable mention, but I really liked the topic. The challenge was to draw a little boy going into and cave to get out of a snow storm and he finds something amazing. Some of the winners and runner ups are really great.
