Illustration Friday - Dance

When my daughter was four we went to a "fairy tea party" at a gardening place in Maine. They had hired a husband and wife duet to play Celtic music for the afternoon. There were other young children there but the only one dancing and twirling as my daughter. She didn't care what anyone thought. She was completely oblivious to everyone looking at her, even the other children. At first I was embarrassed, then I was incredibly envious.

The colors and drawing are just as sweet and evocative as her smile.

What a lovely illustration and have had the same experience with one of my daughters too! I agree that envy can come into mind when you watch them, without a care in the world, they just let themselves be.

"Lovely" is the word, Jenn. Soft and pretty, well done, and from a very interesting angle!

That reminds me of that saying "Sing like nobody is listening, Dance like nobody is watching and love like you've never been hurt"

How lovely of your daughter to be so free spirited - a sign of great happiness I'd say!

Great illo too.
