Illustration Friday - Safe

I was working on my illustration friday piece, which was suppose to be a squirrel (running away from a dog) Well, it turns out I was the one to get bit! I was wasn't planning on getting so far into this piece tonight but one thing led to another and I was pretty happy with the results so far. Only I never bothered the save the file. I know better, but I lost track of time. But that's okay because photoshop never locks up anyways. Right?... ARRRRGGGHHHH!!!! (insert colorful expression here)

I quickly did a screen capture before I killed photoshop so at least I have something for illustration friday.

Safe? - I think not. (sigh)

Looks like the beginning of a great piece. I like the angle a lot.

With technology today you'd think they could build into these systems an option to choose AutoSave in which it could save every 15 minutes or however you choose.

Sorry Jennifer, I hate when that happens. The only thing safe about windows is the fact that my computer doesn't have ears to hear all the profanities I blurt out when this happens to me. Looks like you had an excellant start on your illo though.

arrgh for sure. I had that happen for the first time right after I installed cs2, but it hasn't happened again. was it when you clicked the color picker?

At least its a funny twist (after the fact) on the topic. Looking past the Window, your illustration looks great - nice perspective!

Bill, I'm using version 7 and it practically never locks up likes that. I think I'm going to reinstall the op system this week. Lots of little things have been wonky lately.
Aww! Sorry to hear..but it looks good from what I can see. No file is "safe," so I guess it goes with the theme!

Perhaps you will re-do it? Sometimes the second time around is alot faster (and make sure you save!)

I feel for you! But still like your take on safe and the perspective.

Ah , so photoshop has the Pianter personality. Actually I have had very few 'lock downs' with Painter, but have had enough to know that I must save save save, because once it locks up you can't even get a screen capture on a Mac. Your painting looks great even at this stage!

Yikes! Talk about irony.
Funny and sad story. Your illustration looks like it was gonna be awesome! I commend your quick thinking to at least get a screen capture. BTW, get a Mac.

Thanks all, I'm afraid I'm stuck with my PC for now. Maybe someday I'll go to the other side.

Do you think it's a coincidence that PC's are typically black and Macs white?

Luke... I am your computer...

what a shame, it looks as if this would have been a great illo, this has happened to me so many times I've got a phobia about saving stuff every 30 seconds.
maybe you could finish this using the print screen as a model
