My First Quilt

For some reason I felt compelled to buy a copy of "Quilts and More" magazine at the grocery store the other day. I've always wanted to try quilting but I'm really impatient and don't have a lot of time to quilt. The solution - itty bitty quilts. I found these great little coasters in the magazine. It was sewn by hand using English paper piecing and applique (I did use a machine to do the binding) It took me two evenings to complete. It wouldn't have been my first fabric choice but I had it laying around. But even so, I was pretty happy with the results.

I love it Jenn!
Good for you making the time to do it, even if its a little one.
I'm painting quilts right now in 2 different sets of illustrations, so that's how I get my 'quilt fix'. :~)

It's so sweet Jenn. I love quilting and wish I had more time for it, but that's something to look forward to in my doddering years again. I love the creative "break" it gives me to make something that is more or less preordained but still infinitely flexible.

I mostly machine piece and machine quilt because it's fast but there are plenty of times that I just wanted to have a little piece of hand-work to take with me while I'm waiting on something. I am going to check out the mag.

Can't wait to see what you do next!

Karen
